Winter and Christmas Nail Art!

Hello everyone!
Because I've been so busy at uni recently I've deiced I'm going to start practicing some nail art on nail wheels to show you all. Hopefully this will make it easier for me to post more regularly until all my deadlines are out of the way. I've recently become really uninspired and not really wanted to do much nail art but over the weekend I thought of some really cute ideas, so here they are....

So these are my Christmas/Winter inspired nails. From left to right - Snowflakes! A ginger bread man. A Christmas wreath with berries. A festive Christmas tree an of course a beautifully wrapped present complete with tag! I have many more ideas to finish this wheel off and will keep posting my ideas as and when I complete each set :)
Anyway, let's take a closer look at this nail art!
Snowflake Nails:
So first up we have the snowflake nail art! I used two coats of OPI What's With The Cattitude? for the base colour. This blue is absolutely perfect for this kind of nail art, it's a beautiful wintery blue. I then added one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust on top but you can't see it on the picture! :( I then used a small nail art brush and Barry M White to draw the snowflake in the top corner of the nail. I then added different sized dots of Barielle Platinum ring with dotting tools.

Ginger Bread Man Nails:
For the ginger bread man I used three coats of China Glaze I Herd That for the base, as the colours in the glitter really reminded me of gingerbread and just Christmas in general! I then used Sally Hansen Iced coffee to create the gingerbread mans body with a small nail art brush. Then using a small dotting tool, I added Barry M White and Essie Tour De Finance to create the eyes, smile and buttons.
Sorry about the blurry picture! My camera really doesn't want to co-operate with the crappy weather we're having in England at the minute! :(

Wreath Nails:
For the wreath nails I used two coats of H&M Berry Love as the base as red always reminds me of Christmas time as well. I then used OPI Don't Mess With OPI and Sally Hansen Going Green to create the leaves of the wreath with a small nail art brush. I then added a small circle to the middle with China Glaze Mahogany Magic and the berries with a small dotting tool using Barry M raspberry.

Christmas Tree Nails:
The Christmas Tree nail art was created by using two coast of Barry M White for the base and one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust over the top to give the illusion of glittering snow in the background. I then used OPI Don't mess with OPI and a small nail art brush to create the shape of the tree. I then added two coats of Barry M Amythest Glitter on to the top of the tree as it reminded me of twinkling Christmas lights :)

Christmas Present Nails:
The Christmas present was probably the easiest of the lot to create.. I used two coats of OPI Pink Friday for the base and free handed the ribbon on with Barielle Platinum Ring and the normal polish brush. I then used a small nail art brush to create the tag with Barry M White.

I hope you enjoyed my latest nail art and I hope you all don't mind I'm using my nail wheels for the next two weeks or so until my assignments are over.
Please feel free to leave me comments below, I love hearing your opinions :)

Born Pretty Store Review Part 2

Hello everyone,
Today I have part 2 of my Born Pretty Store review for you all. Again I was supplied with the polish in this post for my honest review.

Onto the pictures...

For these nails I used three coats of OPI Play The Peonies as the base colour, as the polish I'm reviewing is very sheer. I'd defintly class it as a glow in the dark topcoat. it's also tinted pink so gave the base colour more warmth which I really like. It also dried to a semi-matte finish which I loved! You can add a topcoat to create a glossier look if you'd prefer :)
This polish again, has a number rather than a name. It would make life so much easier if it had a proper name but oh well :P I used three coats of this polish over Play The Peonies to create a nice pink colour. The polish applied really well and is a nice consistency to work with, the smell is rather weird though :P I then held my nails up to a light for about 30 seconds to "charge" the polish...
This is the best picture I could could get of the polish glowing but it was much brighter in real life. I really love glow in the dark polishes and this one is no exception. There are many on the market so you can always find something that takes your fancy :)

Also remember you can use the code "CLL91" to get 10% off your order at Born Pretty Store

Born Pretty Store Nail Polish Review Part 1

Hello everyone!
Today I have part one of a review of some Born pretty store products for you all. Before I start I must say that these products were provided to me by Born Pretty store for my honest opinion, and with that said on to the post! :)

The first product I chose to review can be found here - http://www.bornprettystore.com/gold-color-glitter-nail-polish-nail-p-1313.html

I chose this polish because I absolutely love all things glitter and it looks very beautiful and like a few indie polishes I've had my eye on recently, so here's some swatches...

Unfortunately this polish doesn't have a name, it is listed on Born Pretty Store as "Gold Color Glitter Nail Polish Nail Art -80" I wish it had a proper name as it really is beautiful. As you can see from the above picture this polish contains small gold glitters and larger turquoise, red/orange and gold glitters in a clear base.
For these swatches I layered one thick coat of the polish over one layer of Revlon Lunar, to show all the colours of the glitters. I'm really glad I chose to layer this polish over black, it reminds me of Christmas tree lights and I honestly really love it! The application of this polish was also good, it was a great consistency to work with and one coat applied plenty of the glitter to my nail. I didn't need to dab glitter anywhere it applied very smoothly and evenly.
I would reccomend this polish to anyone who loves glitter, it is absolutely gorgeous and can be layered over ,many different colours to create different effects, or built up to be worn on its own.I can't wait to wear this polish again, it's perfect for Christmas but I can also see this looking nice over brighter colours when summer rolls around again.

Fall Into Autumn Challenge - Autumn Leaves & Pumpkins

Hello everyone!
Sorry again for the lack of posting. My uni timetable is absolutly crazy at the minute and I feel so bad for not posting too often, I think I'll start scheduling some posts so that I actually get some posts up for you all :) Anyway, today I have two themes from the Fall Into Autumn Challenge to show off!

First up is Autumn Leaves, now this idea looked so much better in my head and it turned out absolutely awful. I'm actually quite embarrassed to show you all but maybe it'll help me learn :P
For these nails I knew I wouldn't be able to paint little tiny leaves on my nails so i thought I'd base my nail art around the colours of autumn leaves instead.
From top to bottom I used - Three coats of Jesse's Girl Beauty Guru, Two Coats of China Glaze Riveting, Two coats of OPI Chopsticking To My Story & Three coats of China Glaze Harvest Moon. I then dipped the tip of each nail into a pot of glitter from KKCentreHK.

The next theme I have to show you all is Pumpkins. I had great fun creating this nail art. Here's how it turned out...
For these nails I used three coats of China Glaze Riveting for the base on all nails, I the used Revlon Lunar and a small nail art brush to create the faces and OPI Who The Shrek Are You? for the stalks.
I really love how these came out. I knew when I saw pumpkins on the challenge list that I wanted to create them as tips and have some really cute little faces on them.
I hope everyone had a really nice Halloween yesterday!

Thanks for reading :)
